E-Business & E-Commerce (Information Systems & Technology) is offered in the Strome Business College at ODU. It focuses primarily on helping students understand Information Technology while obtaining background knowledge on business and technical skills. With the combination of business and technology knowledge, students will be proficient in launching their own E-Commerce business. This is where they can sell products and services to consumers through an online platform. This major critically incorporates cybersecurity because of its business operation online. The business can be potentially perpetrated by hackers who can infiltrate the business website and steal customer information. This leaves their business vulnerable to cybersecurity threats which makes cybersecurity a major factor involved to help keep their private consumer information protected.

Information Systems & Technology is a major offered in the Strome Business College at ODU. Students in this major study skills that will help them in the technical business world. People in the profession will analyze business databases and implement methods that would improve network performance and availability for users on the platform. Specifically, they deal with online information and work with other people to assess the its management. Cybersecurity is used in field of work because the professionals need to understand how they can assess the safety of the information they are using. Furthermore, because they deal with preventing the loss of data for their business, they would have to implement cybersecurity measures to help them with their work.

Cybercrime is an interdisciplinary study offered in the College of Arts & Letters at ODU. Students in the study learn how to integrate law and justice in the cyber space. They focus of discovering crimes committed online through skills learned in cybersecurity, coding, programming, and digital forensics. Professionals in cybercrime heavily relies on cybersecurity to help them execute their work against cybercriminals online.

Computer science is offered in the College of Sciences at ODU. It is a high demand field that teaches students skills of how to code and develop software programs. Computer science is a broader field that encapsulates cybersecurity. In order for cybersecurity to operate, computer science is needed to code and build the backbone for the online software used by businesses, websites, and apps. From there, cybersecurity specialists can analyze the code and look for potential breaches. They can also use code to help stop a hacker breach from happening.
