This year in my Linux class I learned how to work confidently with the command line and understand how the operating system actually functions. I practiced using essential commands for navigation, file management, networking, permissions, and processes, which helped me see how powerful Linux is compared to a normal GUI. I learned how to edit files with tools like nano and Vim, manage users and groups, and understand file system structures. I also gained experience with networking tools such as ping, traceroute, netstat, dig, and host, and learned how Linux handles IP addresses, routing, and DNS. Overall, the class helped me understand how Linux works behind the scenes and gave me real hands-on skills that I can use in cybersecurity and IT.
