Using the website privacyrights.com, I was able to explore numerous companies that have experienced data breaches, ranging from marketing firms to tech companies. Various types of information were leaked. I believe that having access to such information can help researchers defend against future attacks. By analyzing what other companies or individuals did wrong, researchers can avoid making the same mistakes. Additionally, if the same hacking group repeatedly targets companies at specific times, it could help identify when and where they might strike next. Also looking at the multitude of different hacks, researchers can study their ways and possibly use it for themselves to benefit a company for future occasions.
