I am taking this cybersecurity class as it is a requirement for my major which is Criminal Justice but I am somewhat interested in the topic. I know cybersecurity is very important as it keeps information safe. There are many different steps and aspects to ensure the safety of anything important and I think it is amazing because it seems that people who work in the cybersecurity space have to know a lot like codes and such. I also know that there are different ways people could breach security systems from companies or even individuals and that with each type of breach, there are different solutions. While I do know these things, I do not know enough to properly explain them so I hope to be able to do that once I am done with this course.
Besides cybersecurity being fascinating, I do like it for personal reasons. I am sure that like many other people, I value my privacy. I have had a handful of times where I would receive scam emails, phone calls, and texts and while I have never clicked on any link or given the scammers any important information they could use, it still worries me that they will still find a way to get into important information, and with how technology is growing it could easily become possible one day so I feel that we as a society need to help workers in the cybersecurity space keep ourselves as safe as possible while they figure out ways to stop scammers fully.
I am excited to learn what else cybersecurity consists of so I can maybe protect my own information better or better understand how people in cybersecurity keep us safe so I can appreciate them more. It sounds challenging but I am willing to do everything to overcome any challenges I may come across in this course.
