TalkAbroad Impression #1

My impressions for the first Talk Abroad session this semester is that I could have done a lot better. I kept blanking on words that I knew, and I think on the inside I was a little bit nervous because certain topic questions I don’t usually answer, like stuff dealing with my brothers or sisters. I talk about my parents, but that’s about it. I think that’s what really tipped it off, was that in talking about what I eat for breakfast and more detail about whether I was healthy or not. So for this one, I’m going to say I didn’t do so great, but after this, I think I can do a lot better.

My person for this Talk Abroad session was Axelle Dali, and she was nice and very patient with me. She was willing to repeat the question. I think the only downside is that it was either my computer or her computer, but the words kept being cut out. So, when I asked her to repeat the question as politely as possible, more often than not, it was due to the fact that at some point or another in the beginning, it sounded like her words were being cut out, so I couldn’t hear some of her questions, and I would have to ask her to repeat. But she was very nice about it, and she repeated the question.

I learned that she’s more of a healthy person than I am and that she doesn’t snack. But I do know that she does a lot of activities on Saturday, which says a lot more about me, I barely do a lot. But it was really nice being able to talk to a person who is a translator as their line of work.
