As for any college course there will be formal writing assignments which are usually in the form of a paper. The three kinds of formal writings for this course they were Genre and Discourse community analysis, a research paper, and a remix project.

The Genre and Discourse community analysis goal was to identity the norms utilized for two different peer review articles in the same field of study and provide a rationale for the rhetorical used.  I was happy with this paper but if I was to change anything I would use the authors last name instead of referring to the articles by the title. The Genre and Discourse community paper prepared me to work on my research paper.

The next assignment was started off by picking a field of study that interested me; the field of study I picked was Elementary Education. This topic is important to me because I am majoring in Primary Elementary and my dream job is being a Kindergarten teacher. The topic I focused on was about full and half day kindergarten and the pros and cons of the programs. I was extremely happy about my work for this paper, it was the first time I have ever written a 10 page essay.

As for the remix project, the goal was to take what was in my research paper and change it to a different kind of media. The media I chose was a graphic organizer/Poster.  The remix project is a fun way to think about my research paper in a new way and to make it more shareable for the whole class to see and hear what I have been working on. If I was to change anything for this project I would liked to have personal experience in a kindergarten classroom to really understand the ins and outs of both programs.
