Engineers are constantly at work, whether it be creating systems, implementing updates, or even protecting a system; the work of an engineer is never over. To be an engineer requires great intelligence and skill; being an innovator as what they are creating helps the world in our everyday life. With that being said, it is crucial that these creations are safe. One way an engineer may protect a system is when they begin creating a system they are building the system with caution; thinking of many ways, their system could potentially be attacked and proceeding with the steps necessary to limit these possible attacks. Another method and probably one of the most common ways is performing risk analysis, engineers can run a software that can scan a system and look for any errors or vulnerabilities within a network. Risk analysis is something that should be performed often because hackers are constantly getting smarter, so as they get smarter, your system will need to get smarter. Continually updating a system and making sure it is up to date is another essential way to protect it; updates can consist of path updates, bug fixes, etc. Engineers can also safeguard a cyber system by teaching others how to protect a network on their own. By teaching people, we will now have more people educated on the topic at hand and will be able to limit risks on their own. In all honesty, no matter what an engineer is doing it is always instilled in their mind that they need to make sure that their work is untraceable and easily accessible. This is what makes a great engineer; creating something easy for all to use but not easy to get into. With all these methods this is how engineers are always on alert and are making sure the cyber systems are always protected.
