With today’s digital age and all of its technological advancements, I’m sure an occurring question that is constantly being asked is, “how can I know if my computer is safe?”. There are many ways to test and to ensure that your computer is running the way it should be without being attacked.

              First, to see if anything is wrong, check to see if your computer is performing the way it should be. For example: your computer is starting up correctly, opening up a web browser and not being attacked with a bunch of adware. Checking your settings to see if there are any errors or anything that may be at risk. While also being in your settings you can check to see if your system is up-to-date on the latest software updates; making sure your system is properly updated is critical. By doing this you can test your system’s performance and that your computer is running smoothly.

              One way to protect your computer is by making sure you are installing and using a firewall. Companies like Microsoft already have a firewall built into their Windows OS that is automatically turned on and is protecting your computer. Of course, you are always welcome to purchase and use other firewalls.

              Another essential way to protect your computer is using some type of Antivirus software. This type of software is specifically designed to be constantly scanning for any types of malicious activity that could be present within your computer. Windows has its own antivirus software called Windows Security, but of course, there are other popular anti-virus software such as Malwarebytes and so on.

              While being on the internet, you can ensure that your computer is safe by only visiting secure websites, not opening any suspicious emails, avoiding downloading any questionable material, and making sure that your web browser is also up to date.

By following all these steps you can be one step closer to making sure that your computer is safe. Completing each of these tasks will eliminate any potential risks your computer may have, ultimately eliminating any threats.
