Artifacts
spainsh-tutor-2-scaled.jpegI had a wonderful experience with the tutor, he helped me with pronouncing the numbers. I struggled with learning this but the tutor gave me notes and made it easy on me and explained what the numbers were and how to pronounce them correctly.
Engaging in Communities
I Learned a lot, I learned many more greetings than I ever knew. I’m starting to realize that Spanish is a very important language. It has been challenging to understand and pronounce everything correct, however, my will to learn more grows each and every day.
Interpersonal Communication
There were many assignments that I had to complete throughout the course. There were many Supersite activities and partner chats. In these chats, there was a practice of communication in Spanish with over students.
Honestly, I have to say I enjoyed the partner chats. I remember I had to do one with one of my classmates named Joshua, It was a great learning experience. All partner chats through the supersite were very useful and became a good way to practice. We told each other phone numbers and answered a variety of questions.
With each assignment I became better at speaking and understanding Spanish. Overall, I have came a long way and I am very proud of myself for not giving up. I would never quit, I always asked for help or found a way to keep going. Now, I am very good at greeting and I get better everyday having Spanish conversations.
Presentational Speaking
Above is a video of my family tree. We had to do this assignment in Spanish and had to use descriptive words to describe a family member. This assignment was easy and helped me practice descriptive words.
Presentational Writing
email-draftThe link above is to an email draft we had to do. In this assignment we had to create an email draft to a friend in Spanish and have a conversation. This was an easy assignment and I had a wonderful time completing it.
Interpretive Listening
In this assignment we had to listen and respond to some questions that an automatic voice spoke to us. This assignment was wonderful practice. In this assignment we mainly focused on greeting and how to pronounce them the correct way. It is very helpful to hear someone else speak and then you speak so you can repeat or understand words better.
Interpretive Reading
In order to learn, sometimes you must read. Reading can help you learn and that is exactly what it did in this next assignment. We had to read off numbers to each other in Spanish, which was very difficult at first.
This assignment was very helpful, yet difficult. Learning and reading off numbers in Spanish is way different than English. Joshua helped me understand and practice prior to the video. This was great help and it was great practice exercise for me and my partner.
