Hello, my name is Alicia Moulder, and I’m currently a senior at Old Dominion University majoring in psychology. My specific interests in psychology include substance use and disordered eating. I plan to pursue a research career exploring these topics and relevant interventions, hopefully attaining advanced degrees along the way. I’m taking Cross-Cultural Psychology as I am aware that research conducted in one country with a given culture, even when utilizing a representative sample, may not generate results generalizable to individuals living in another country with an entirely different culture. I hope to learn more about what are considered best practices in research in order to better maintain cultural competence in the future.
