Workplace deviance can occur easily in cyber technology since the deviance could happen more commonly through the web than face to face which would be harder to detect. There are examples of work deviance, like an employee that got fired or an employee that didn’t receive a promotion that they were expecting. A disgruntled employee leaving the company could possibly shut down their security system which leaves the company open to an attack. Hackers could possibly enter the system and steal important information from the company afterward. Cyber technology created new opportunities because it’s much harder to find the person when they are doing some harmful acts behind the computer compared to when they are in person can be caught on a security camera for example. This could possibly let the employee do more damage for a longer period before they get caught. Cyber technology created more ways for work deviance, which also made it easier to do and makes it hard to get caught. It also made it easier to execute.
