How has cyber technology created opportunities for workplace deviance?

Cybertechnology has created opportunities for workplace deviance because an employee can create malicious attempts to sabotage an organization by causing problems in the certain organization.  This can actually be done via technology making it easier for that certain individual to not get exposed and caught for their act.  Workplace cyber deviance is an important and key topic, as this type of misbehavior can lead to negative work outcomes and situations. Cybertechnology have created four key cyber deviance behaviors in relation to the workplace.  These workplace deviances can be known as “cyberbullying, online incivility, cyberloafing, and cybercrime.” Cyberbullying is the use of technology to bully or insult a person, which can typically be done by sending messages of threatening nature.  This is a key workplace deviance as it is very common today, especially within a workplace or school system. The next one I will discuss is the online incivility within a workplace. Online incivility is an action of offensive interactions that can range from threatening comments, rude critiques, outrageous claims, hate speech and harassment. This is another huge key workplace deviance, even though the results of negative workplace could be extremely worse.  Cyberloafing is the use of the Internet where you work, during working hours, for activities which are not work-related which could have a negative impact on your work ethic and workplace.  They last key workplace deviance example I will thoroughly discuss is cybercrime.  Cybercrime is continuously becoming an issue for many companies and organizations which is why it is a great example to discuss. This one is pretty self-explanatory on why it is an example because cybercrime never has had a positive effect on a workplace, leaving it to fall in line with the other deviance examples. Therefore, these 4 key examples make it a little easier to under why cyber technology has created opportunities for workplace deviance.
