Ethical issues will arise when storing electronic information about individuals, and in this ePortfolio I will discuss four issues that has occurred because of this electronical storing. The four ethical issues I will discuss is lack of privacy and confidentiality, possible cyberattacks and risk, system implementation, and possible lack of correct information. The first one I will go into detail about is the lack of privacy and confidentiality. With certain private information being stored, there is always a chance the information stored could be accidently misused or not properly handled. Even though most of the time authorized personnel are the only people to have access to this information, it is their job and duty to keep this information concealed and private without any sort of information leak. There will never be a time you can be 100% sure the information stored is secured. The next one I would like to discuss is the possibility of cyberattacks and information leaks. This one is the most important because as we all know, cyberattacks have continuously increased as years passed. Computer science is always updating and progressing leaving possible threats and attacks a well-known issue. These cyber-attacks threaten privacy when the confidential information is made available to others without an individual’s authorization. The next ethical issue I will thoroughly discuss is system implementations. If two possible systems are used to interact with the stored information, an interface is created. This created interface is a possible threat to this confidential information because poorly designed interfaces are at high risk of security failures. This ties into the ethical I discussed because cyberattacks leave the stored information at high risk, always. The last ethical issue I will talk about is possible information inaccuracy. Inaccurate information could be another problem within secured information, giving that the information stored is not right. Therefore, I chose to discuss these 4 possible ethical issues with storing electronic information about individuals in this ePortfolio.

As today society is becoming more and more involved in the cyberworld, it is starting to become natural to move everything digital and electronic. With this being a positive thing allowing everyone to communicate and find information as quick as ever, it also has its negative variables.
