My stance on protecting our DNA from breaches is that we should not let our curiosity get the better of our self knowing that DNA can not be changes. None of us would like our credit card stolen or social security card leaked. But in our own curiosity we give another company our DNA which then is a high target for hackers to try and obtain the data for the dark Webb. Giving a company that important of information that may and already has had a breach should be a concern. When the pay out is just knowing your back ground. The hackers are going to keep trying to find flaws and weaknesses in the system so they can obtain all the information and sell it to make a profit while having your data accessible to all that pay. We need to be more aware on where the DNA data is being held, stored, and how protect it is before containing to share it. Some would argue that it would be good to help solve illnesses and other fatal symptoms that could be fatal. While I would argue that the DNA that makes you up fallen into the wrong hands guarantees danger. Most of us wouldn’t trust a stranger with our phones but we are allowing a company to store our DNA that could be taken from a stranger. I think the negatives out weigh the positives and that we should protect our DNA at all costs. Our safety should come before our curiosity and fallen into the wrongs hands could allow criminals to do unspeakable things once they find out how to manage it. The company storing all the DNA data will be breached eventually its just a matter of time. They already found out how to do it once.
