On the first floor:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>52 ports connect to classrooms via category 5e cabling.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>36 ports connect to the MBA and advising offices via category 5e cabling.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One multimode fiber optic cable connects to the campus backbone.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>On the east side of the second floor:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>10 ports connect to classrooms via category 5e cabling.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>170 ports connect to offices via category 5e cabling.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>On the west side of the second floor:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>2 ports connect to classrooms via category 5e cabling.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>104 ports connect to offices via category 5e cabling.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Your task is to determine the materials necessary to complete the wiring of the network and what switches to install. Submit a materials budget, including the prices and links for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Enough keystone jack faceplates to have one in each office and classroom.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enough RJ45 keystone outlets to have two in each office and classroom.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enough 48 port patch panels in the equipment room and telecomm closets to terminate all of the cable runs to each office and classroom.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enough workgroup switches to make all of the outlets in the building live.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A core switch (a.k.a. aggregation switch) with enough SFP ports to connect to all of the workgroup switches.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, submit a diagram that shows: 1) how the three rooms will be interconnected via trunk lines and 2) where each switch goes. You must use professional quality, managed switches.
