The question of the day is How has cyber technology created opportunities for workplace deviance?

I’ll start by breaking down what the word deviance means and then how it can be related to the workplace environment. After that, we will look at how technology can create certain opportunities for workplace deviance. There are multiple definitions of the word deviance, but in the question provided above, we will look at deviance in the workplace with technology as a criminal offense and how it can also be non-criminal but still wrong against the social norms of society. Deviance is any behavior that violates social norms and is usually of sufficient severity to warrant disapproval from the majority of society. Deviance can be a criminal or non‐criminal act. An example of workplace deviance using technology in a non criminal way issuing your phone at work while you hide in the bathroom if the work polociy says your not allowed to be on your phone. When working lets say a cybersecurity job, there are very strict rules when it comes to electronic devices. Security at the job site is very important. Most Jobs don’t even allow USB devices to be plugged into the computers. An example of cyber deviance is Lets say you have an angry employee who decides to leave the company and work for a rival company. In secret the disgrunteled employee sent emails to the rival company of very personal and security information to the rival company. This is a criminal offense and an example of cyber deviance.
