What is the overlap between criminal justice and cybercrime? How does this overlap relate to the other disciplines discussed in this class?

Cybercrime is all about protecting persons data from hackers, also provide security measures for personal information etc. In order to do an investigation there are rules and laws that need to take place just before diving into hardware. Being a cybercrime major I also take criminology and criminal justice. In lots of way these courses relate. Electronic crime is another name for cybercrime. Cybercrime comprises a wide range of criminal behaviors, however all cybercrime involves the use of a computer, network, or the internet to carry out illicit crimes. Because the crimes are committed through computers and network connections, they are referred to as cybercrime. Traditional crime has evolved into a boundless, borderless creature because to technological advancements. “However, our understanding of the relationship among crimes and tech has not kept up with inflation with the technical developments that have impacted criminal conduct,” Payne and Hadzhidimova wrote in their paper “Cybersecurity and Criminal Justice: Exploring the Intersections.” Cybercrime has grown so common that a new field called digital forensics has emerged to analyze “cyber, computer, electronic, or other sorts of cybercrimes” (Payne & Hadzhidimova, 2019). Some cybercrimes are just modern versions of old crimes, such as theft and fraud, in which computers are used to obtain personal information, passwords, and credit card numbers. Computers can be corrupted or converted into espionage agents in more complex cybercrimes, such as denial of service assaults. Viruses or other devices are frequently concealed in seemingly genuine emails or advertising on the internet, infecting a computer after a user clicks on a link or email. Victims may be unable to use their computers or access particular websites or documents after they have been infected. This is how cybercrime relates t criminal justice and the law.
