This was another theory that caused me to change the way I look at pieces of literature. In this essay, I examined a fear of abandonment in the narrator. It was fun to pull such an interesting theme out of a classical work. In a revision, I would have tried to explore more of the narrator’s fear of the outdoors and why that was attached to abandonment.
