For a minor, I would choose Business because understanding how
organizations operate would help me apply data analysis in practical ways, especially in
decision-making or strategy. I think adding this major and minor would really help me in my
future career by giving me both technical skills and business knowledge, making me
more competitive in getting a good job. The main challenge I see is keeping up with the
heavy workload, since both data science and business require a lot of projects,
assignments, and critical thinking. Staying organized and asking for help when needed
would help me overcome any challenges. Overall, this combination would give me skills
that are valuable in many different industries.

Picture and Reflection from a Webinar

I reviewed a cybersecurity webinar that focused on how everyday users can protect themselves from modern digital threats. The session broke down common issues like phishing, weak passwords, and insecure Wi-Fi networks in a really simple way. One thing that stood out to me was how often people get hacked because they assume it won’t happen, even though attackers usually go after the easiest targets.

Another part that caught my attention was the explanation of multi-factor authentication. The speaker talked about how adding even one extra step, like a text code or an authentication app, stops most automated attacks. It made me realize that small habits can make a huge difference in cybersecurity.

The webinar also highlighted the rise of social engineering. Instead of breaking into systems, attackers are now just tricking people into giving them access. Hearing that made me more aware of how important it is to slow down, double-check messages, and not click on anything that feels suspicious.

Overall, the webinar helped me understand cybersecurity in a more personal, practical way. It wasn’t just about big companies or hackers in movies, it showed me how these threats impact normal people every day. That perspective encouraged me to pay more attention to my digital safety and to continue to build stronger habits as I learn more about the field of cyber security.

Resume

Zahir Williams
Norfolk, VA
Email: mwill220@odu.edu
Phone: 7578079031

Profile
I’m a motivated student with a growing interest in cybersecurity and technology.
