Jan 171. What is design thinking?
Design thinking is when an individual comes up with a process that will enhance their perspective to help create better solution regardless of the type of problem. It changes the approach to problems and makes an individual think critically. People who implement design thinking learn by doing and testing their outcomes. Design thinking creates a path to creativity and better solutions. Problems are manageable with design thinking. Design thinking can also be defined as, “A combination of both science and art.” (Module 1).
2. How has design thinking influenced a product I use?
Design thinking has influenced a product I used by pushing me to want to provide security to protect customers online makeup companies from fraud. Using Lifelock has shown me how important it is to ensure monitor all of my personal information. It has shown me a skill level of creativity I have as well. It makes me feel innovative because I see how Lifelock has their program set up to let customer choose what is best for them. As far as being a customer of Lifelock, the only thing I did not like about the service was it does not stop someone from stealing your information. It just alerts you when a change has been made regarding your information. When I apply design thinking to my business, I want to be able to prevent fraud from happening overall when it comes to customer online makeup products.
3. What are the connections between opportunities and planning?
The connections between opportunities and planning is when it comes to both, they have three things in common. “What do you want to do?” Meaning I need to establish a goal for myself. “What do they want you to do?” This can be depicted by actually seeing what the competition is and who is providing the same services as my business. “How do you do it?” Provide clear communication on what approach I can take to achieve the desired results for the best interest of my client. My external and internal ideas need to correspond with one another.
4. What opportunities have I missed?
I believe I have missed a handful of opportunities due to myself having the fear of failure. I have missed the opportunity of doing having a successful business because I never knew where to start. Missing out on opportunities is something I feel is constant for me because I always try to wait until the right time. I had to realize there is no such thing as the right time, you have to take a leap of faith and see what the results will be. Sometimes, I feel as if I do not have enough support but, in reality I do because tell me they will support me. Overall, lack of confidence is the reason why I miss opportunities.
5. Can a successful venture be unethical?
I personally do not believe a venture can be successful if it is unethical because ethics is important when it comes to running a business. Providing customers with good customer service is something people look forward to. I also think it is subjective as to whether a successful venture can be ethical because good and bad is polarity. What I might think is bad for business someone else may not. I do believe some people have a successful venture although their business is unethical, I do not think it is impossible.
