1. Describe five businesses or non-profits that have been created in my field.
Five non-profits that have been created in my field are, “Black Cybersecurity Association, CyAN – Cybersecurity Advisors Network, CSN – Cybercrime Support Network, NCSA – National Cybersecurity Alliance, and Cyber Oregon Advisory Council. The Black Cybersecurity Association focuses on the community and providing mentorship to people to minorities in cybersecurity.  CyAN helps to protect against the dangers of cybercrime by using various approaches in which is determined by the relationship with their client. CSN supports individuals and businesses that run into cyber issues on a daily basis. NCSA creates public and private relationships with companies to spread knowledge when it comes to education whether it be from work, home, and school. The Cyber Oregon was created as a cross sector for cybersecurity and works with cyber-related industries, private sector security practitioners, educational institutions, law enforcement and local governments. “Cybercrime Magazine”. https://cybersecurityventures.com/cybersecurity-associations/ .© 2022 Cybersecurity Ventures. 2. What is your overall perspective on the entrepreneurship experience?
My overall perspective on the entrepreneurship experience overall was mediocre. It was mediocre due to the fact I did not do an internship. I would have preferred a hands on experience and getting the chance to work in the cybersecurity field but, I was having a difficult time finding one due to various reasons. However, this course helped me gain knowledge on how to start my own business and being able to pitch an idea. I also learned how to work in a group with other people and we helped each other broadcast ideas. This experience has also showed me I have the qualities of becoming an entrepreneur if I set my goals accordingly and work towards them.

3. How did the entrepreneurship prepare or not prepare you to be a competitive candidate for vacant positions?
I believe this prepared me to be a competitive candidate for vacant positions because I can use what I have learned from this course to be prepared for positions. I can use the knowledge I have gained from watching videos throughout the module on how to create a promotional blurb that will grab my audience attention. I can also present one of the business canvas models to show how my plan will work and how I will bring it into fruition. Another reason I will be a competitive candidate is because I will go above and beyond to demonstrate how I can and will meet expectations for the position.

4. What suggestions do you have to improve the experience?

To improve this experience I would suggest this class be offered in person and not online. I believe this so students can know they are getting the full experience whether they have an internship or not. I also would reduce the writing and do more technical and hands on activities. I think there should be more in person contact so any questions student have confusion on they can get instant clarification.

5. What’s next for you?

I plan on taking what I have learned in this course and applying it to become and an entrepreneur especially after I graduate from ODU in the fall of 2023.  I do plan on opening up my own business and helping the cybersecurity community expand. I want to start a small association where I can go around helping other companies with any weaknesses their companies may be facing when it comes to cybersecurity.
