Lesson 2

I chose the talk about “foods you like” because I felt I would be most strong and successful in this lesson in communicating with them the best. I also chose this lesson because I like to learn about words that pertain to my everyday life. The translation was the most helpful aspect of this lesson because I struggled with the responses as this is a category that is obviously new to me. The use of visuals did not affect me negatively or positively. I feel technology has emerged with learning; this is not too different. I connected with the fact that different cultures live with different eating habits and interests. This category helped my interests by broadening my horizon to simple french meals as I have never tried any sort of French food. I did well talking about what I enjoyed but I struggled when talking about french meals and desserts.

Lesson 9

I chose the category of sports to further my knowledge of things I am not very aware of. I feel as if the immersion piece is usually the most helpful because it puts everything together. By this I mean it uses the pronunciation and translation section and brings all of the information into one section. Something that helped was the use of real artifacts and genuine people which impacted me positively as I feel I am in a more “real setting”. My biggest struggle was the translation piece as some words are difficult for me to “sound french” which stops me from completing the section.
