Following the midterm my score dropped low, I made mistakes that I thought I learned from essay one. I think because I did so well on my first essay I did not try as hard and rushed through my midterm. Some things I need to help me move forward in my writings are being consistent and turning things in on time. Before we left for spring break I slacked off and was doing everything last minute which effected my performance on my writings. Not being on campus really distracted me because it is always things going on in my house, so it is hard to stay focused. The grading rubric for the writing placement test made a lot more sense after the first essay and midterm. It showed me what they are looking for in writings and where you can lose points. My main area of struggle was I had many sentence structure errors. I will improve on this reading over my essays out loud so I can be more aware of run-on and incomplete sentences. Things I will do to better prepare myself for the final exam is given myself enough time to be able to complete it without rushing or having other things on my plate. As well as developing my sentences all the way and give a good amount of details following. In my past writings, I have had comments about using the wrong context for words, so I will need to not rush and realize what I am writing about and use the right context. I think if I correct all my errors I will be able to get a 3 on the last reflection essay and pass the class.
