Welcome

My name is Myrna Santiago. I will graduate from Old Dominion University in May 2025 with my second B.S. in Cybersecurity. I received my first degree from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez campus, in December 2003, with a B.S. in Computer Engineering. I have some years of experience in IT, retail, and hospitality. My current job is in Cybersecurity for the Department of Defense.

I chose cybersecurity because it is a field that I have always found fascinating. When I was allowed to return to school, I chose Old Dominion University for its diversity in the program. It allowed me to explore different cybersecurity areas and set my sights on Ethical Hacking and Digital Forensics. It also encouraged me to continue my higher education. I will start my Master’s Program in Cybersecurity at ODU Global in August 2025.

My desire to pursue cybersecurity is to help the growing force of cybersecurity professionals fight bad actors and cybercrime. I want my child and future generations to be more secure using technology.

This E-Portfolio showcases some of my skills and work during my educational career at ODU.
