Journal Entry #3: PrivacyRights.org and data breaches

The data provided by PrivacyRights.org has been already cleaned and normalized. Also, it is only data of publicly available information. Because of this, it does not represent all data breaches in the history of the USA. On the other hand, the data can be use to pin-point the data breach type and the type of organization targeted the most. It also goes as back as 2005, which allows to see which years has been affected the most and study what was the climate in the corporate world. How economical impacts and economic changes brought a new type of crimes? What new developments in hardware and software brought vulnerabilities, to the corporate world? Using this data along with credible news sources, we can see how cyber security change the social environment around the world.
