The article I’m reviewing is from the International Journal of Cybersecurity and
Cybercrime and is titled “Victimization of Deepfake in the Metaverse: Toward a Practical
Management Framework.” This article relates to the principles of social science
because it talks about how women and children are the most likely victims of
cybercrimes, especially deep fakes. The article also relates to the principles of social
sciences because it uses parsimony to explain why people commit crimes. The
contribution of this research is that it raises awareness of the impact of deep fakes,
especially on children and women, as they are the majority of victims of deep fakes.
Another contribution of this article to society is to change the laws surrounding deep
fakes and find ways to prevent deep fakes from being created. In the article, the
research questions are from experts in South Korea and the questions are mostly about
the metaverse, cybercrime, and potential victims of deep fakes. The method that was
used to collect data in this article was thematic analysis and the type of data used in this
article was qualitative data. This article relates to the concerns that deep fakes have on
women and children especially when it comes to mental health because someone
making deepfakes of innocent people can lead to mental health issues and
