- My experience in HMSV 494 Entrepreneurship in Human Services and Non-Profit Fundraising with Professor Rivas was wonderful. The textbook was wonderfully written by a now-deceased ODU faculty. It was clear, concise, and perfect for a beginning fundraiser/grant writer with little to no experience.
- I have included a sample of a proposal I wrote as a review for an educational grant proposal.
- My analysis of the proposal was objective and looked for pertinent, key facts that would greatly influence the decision on if a grant is awarded or not. The grant I reviewed was very well written.
- Skills that I built upon were analyzing quantitative data and creating reports. These are exteremely necessary when writing grants or reviewing them. I also came to know the strict importance of planning, organizing, and prioritizing grant and fundraising work.
- This experience has shown me that with careful planning that I have the potential to be a good and experienced grant writer. Writing Sample
