Pre-Semester Reflection

“Your life is a reflection of your thoughts. Think well.”

-Danielle Pierre

My intended major is Nursing because I’ve always been fascinated with the medical field, but what really sparked my interest was when my niece and nephew were born they had many health problems being that they were born three months early. Seeing the way the NICU nurses helped breathe life back into them was amazing and I wanted to be apart of that. The skills and abilities that I possess are time management, compassion and the warm nurturing feel, communication, attention to detail because one shall make no mistake when it comes to ones life, and of course professionalism. As of right now I don’t have any experience but I plan to by the end of this year. I’m more of a busy setting person but I can work under any type of setting because you never know what kind of day will come, things can change quicker than you can blinkIn five years I expect me to have graduated college, received my BSN, already working at a hospital, and then hopefully finishing up my first year towards my masters degree.

The biggest difference between high school and college is the amount of work and time management. In high school the teachers were always on you about doing your work but in college you have to be on yourself about your work and turning everything in on time. The biggest challenge for me is going to be juggling working at Home Depot and being in school at the same time because college is obviously not easy, so I want to make sure I have enough time on my hands to do both.

Studying is your own individual way of retaining the information and nobody else meanwhile, homework is how the entire class is supposed to do a specific assignment. Night time is when everything is most peaceful to me but I also like to do things early because I don’t like procrastinating so my times of study will vary for the most part.
