My name is Neena Smith, and I am a current student at Tidewater Community College. I plan on furthering my career in Cybersecurity by transferring to Old Dominion University where I plan to receive my bachelors and master’s degree. I will soon be an honors graduate of Old Dominion University with a Bachelor’s in Cybersecurity.
Cybersecurity has become a major topic in society today, especially with the new development of technology. My interest in computers mainly formed when I watched my brothers attend competitions and complete projects for their class and clubs. My family has been a big part of my influence in pursuing a career in technology. I was a member of the AKA Sorority ASCEND program, that focused on high school students to guide them through their goals. ASCEND emphasized SMART, also known as Science, Math and Technology. This program assisted my transition from high school to college. During the program I accomplished numerous of community service projects, perfected my resume and learned the qualities of education.
