Cyber security risks may be different than ones that happen in the US. In an article I read about the Russians distorting information about how it is going in the Ukraine, instead of hacking or phishing, they took information given to them and completely twisted it. They are using the internet to give false information in an attempt to overrule their new government leaders. Here, in the United States, the most common cyber security risk is malware. According to a study done by comparitech, Tajikistan is the least cyber-secured country in the world. Like the US, Tajikistan is very commonly affected by malware, specifically banking malware. Tajikistan does not have the best security to prevent these cyber attacks. The country Denmark is actually the country that is the most cyber secure. Denmark scored very high on cyber security indices and on cyber security expose index. Since they are very secure, they are also the country with the least amount of cyber crime. Along with Denmark, in 2020 the US placed first in the Global Cybersecurity Index so the US is also very cyber secure. For cyber security risks in the US, our biggest threats are Russia, North Korea, Iran, China, and others. The most common cyber risk in the US is cyber subversion. Cyber subversion is online propaganda and hacking that deliberately attempts to undermine the authority of political leaders. This is very common with political heads and authorities. Now for the country with the worst cyber safety, Myanmar wins. They scored just a 2.22 on the Cyber Safety Index. Most of their ranking comes from their legislation. They don’t have enough laws and enforcement of internet security. After Myanmar, Cambodia follows closely behind with a low score of 2.67. In these rankings, Cambodia had the second worst overall ranking score.
