My writing process in the semester so far has been alright. I believe my writing progress in this class has come a long way compared to where I started out. I feel like I have learned some new things since then from the writing class. When I first came into this class I had no prior knowledge of like a comma splice and things like that, so I feel like this class helped me with that. In the past, my high school teachers never really cared to teach all the English basics that one needed to go on to become a good writer which come to find out is helpful in the real world. As I go deeper into the semester of this class it really opens a whole new world of writing that I never knew about. Starting from the first paper I feel like it wasn’t the best paper I have ever written but I’d like to believe my writing is getting better. From what I have seen from reviewing my paper and having to do an editing checklist for the first paper so far, my writing still needs some improvement but it really helps when you go over and see all the mistakes you’ve made in the paper. With the editing skills checklist, I had to see what my strengths and weaknesses were for that paper and some things I did wrong were repetitive mistakes so now I know what I can do better is learn that writing rule so I don’t make the same mistakes in the future. The checklist also has you do research on the errors that you have made so you are learning by having to look up what you did wrong and find out the right way to do it. As I continue in this class and writing I am hoping for my next paper I do better and I go on to writing better and keep gaining more knowledge on how to write.
