The Human Factor in Cybersecurity

As a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) facing a limited budget, it’s crucial to prioritize
developing, implementing, and enforcing security policies to protect critical data (CISCO).
Here’s how I would allocate my funds;
I would start with basic security measures like firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion
detection systems to protect the program from viruses and intruders. This is like the platform for
any technology based program and there would be no CISO without this. I would then make
sure to educate my coworkers and everyone that is affiliated with the security of our program. I
would train them on how to identify scam emails, good password formation because if all of us
are not on the same page on security our system would be shaky. We should make sure that our
security measures are regularly updated and have drills to ensure we are prepared in case of an
incident at any time, which will ease the stress of any incident.
I think these measures would be my utmost priority with a limited budget.
