Deviance is known as behavior that is not usual to the norms of society which leads to negative social reactions. Workplace deviance is described as deviance that takes place in the workplace. Cyber technology allows for more opportunities for workplace deviance because of technology and the internet. Cyber technology also allows for for more workplace deviance because of the fact one can become anonymous on the internet. Becoming anonymous online allows for others to send threats, scams, and other attacks without them becoming detected as the one who sent it.
Furthermore, employees in the workforce can conduct workplace deviance through cyber technology in many different ways. For example, employees who are possibly recently fired or laid off may anonymous send threats to others employees. If there is a disagreement possibly among employees an employee may download and use a VPN to possibly send threats and cyber bully other employees. Employees may download information that is classified to their and rather store it for themselves or possibly sell it off to other companies. Another example is that individuals could use denial of service attacks to possibly hurt a company or employee. Cyber technology has created many different ways for workplace deviance because of new and advanced technology that makes it harder for one to detect and track who it is.
