I’m interested in cybersecurity because a lot of my family have careers with computers. cybersecurity is also a great career and the job opportunities are always looking for workers. The careers with cybersecurity also offer remote work, which is something I want to pursue when I start getting into my career. I’ve always enjoyed computers and videogames and cybersecurity is mainly computer work which I’m interested in. Cybersecurity can also lead to different computer careers and learn about different types of jobs that involve cybersecurity. I’ll always have room to grow with my career, and every industry needs some type of cyber professional. I want to one day be able to have my own security company and have tons of companies use my programs. Cybersecurity will also never be not needed, there’s always gonna be bad guys trying to hack into computers and softwares, so I will never have to worry about starting a new career path. Some majors that relate to cybersecurity are: computer science, programming, cyber operations, and computer engineering. Computer science is a broad field that involves the study of computers and computing. Cyber security, a subfield of computer science, involves protecting networks, systems and programs from digital hacks. In order to do this work, cyber security specialists rely on their deep understanding of computers and networks. Cyber Operations is an interdisciplinary major encompassing the entire scope of cyberspace and related operations that are both technical and non-technical in nature. Cyber Operations is a complementary discipline to Cybersecurity. The top programming languages used by hackers include Python, JavaScript, PHP, SQL, and C. Understanding these languages will help cybersecurity professionals counter attacks as well as understand how to defend against them. Cyber engineers incorporate electrical engineering and computer science to understand cyberspace. They use skills developed in digital forensics, security policy and network defense to perform cybersecurity tasks, as well as work on engineering hardware and software.
