When beginning my journey to complete school, I researched a lot for a career that would align with what I wanted to be doing in the healthcare field. I was unsure what type of setting I wanted to be in, such as a hospital or a doctor&#8217;s office. I never considered an assisted living facility, which made me realize I did not consider how many settings this career would be useful. So, I hope participating in this internship allows me to decide what direction to take when I graduate.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>My second goal for this internship is to learn about assisted living operations. Many moving parts go into ensuring that a facility of this nature runs smoothly without fail. To make an informed decision for my first goal, I would have to ensure that I learned everything that I could from this internship. I would like to acquire knowledge about the day-to-day operations of an assisted living facility, including regulatory compliance, staff coordination, and resident care plans. I can obtain this by ensuring that I complete my allotted hours or more, if possible, being attentive, asking questions, taking notes while at the intern site, and trying to apply skills I have learned throughout my coursework. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>My third goal is to enhance my communication abilities. When working as an Executive Director, communication must occur between different aspects of people. This includes the residents, their families, the healthcare team, and other staff members. Learning how to effectively communicate and convey information while providing accurate information and support is important in this role.
