I thought that the items in the scale were very similar to how you would diagnose someone for any other addiction. The ones I answered yes to were Tolerance, Persistence, Displacement, Deception, and Escape. When stating all of those being parts of social media, I struggle with it is easy to say I have a problem with being on social media. Since the questions all highlight ways, social media alters your life and thought process which in turn can lead to a bigger problem. Different patterns are found across the world because of culture and access to social media. For example, if you live in a place where you have internet access every place you go then you are more likely to end up on social media along with everybody else around you.
