The laissez-faire economic theory relates because in the letter it states that the company deployed a cybersecurity firm to help find a solution, as well as federal law enforcement to investigate it. Likewise, the rational choice theory relates to the use of cybersecurity to help find out about the breach. The two social science theories I think relate to this letter would be the routine activity theory and the social engineering theory. I chose the routine activity theory because the company was breached through the use of malware because of their lack of anti software, making them a suitable target for cyber criminals. In addition, the social engineering theory involves the idea of taking someone&#8217;s information through cyber attacks, which is what happened in the letter.
