Course Description for 215-S: An Introduction to Criminology

This course provides an introduction to criminology as a scientific discipline, focusing on the study of crime, criminal behavior, and society’s responses. Topics include theoretical frameworks, key criminological concepts, research methods, and the application of criminological knowledge to professional and policy-related contexts. Students will explore sociological and interdisciplinary perspectives on crime and develop analytical skills for evaluating criminological research.
