Interpretive Reading

Our readings consisted on researching difficult topics for our Discussion Boards. It opened my eyes to the culture, traditions and lifestyle of Spanish people around the world through music, customs and historical places. For one of our discussion boards, we were to research the Cuzco-PerĂº Ruins and explain were of the ruins you would like to visited. I choose Chinchero, a summer resort for the Inca royalty, Tupac Yupanqui, located in the village which is named Chinchero or the city of the Rainbow (see above picture.)

In this city, there is also a large market that is held on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays but is keeps the tradition of bartering for the locals and also have things dedicated to the tourists. I love history and how modernization and history can coexist without one taking over the other and in this reading/research as was able to see this very thing. I am continue my studies (as a dance major), I hope to visit such cities to help understand the culture better so as different styles of dancing or dance choreography is produce, I can have a truly authentic knowledge of how to give the culture the honor it is due without taking away its very essence.
