Given how technology has grown and involved since coming into fruition, it is amazing to see how it is being used and seen all around us. It has become a severe necessity in how the world operates and is structured today. Since this is a crucial necessity, and an every day tool, especially in business, there are people today who operate with the title of engineers, to ensure the functionality and smooth operation of the cyber networks.

In order to ensure it is running swiftly, engineers identify any vulnerabilities in the computer systems and available software. The vulnerabilities they are constantly looking for may include having to test the system for any weak points via penetration testing to ensure it is able to fend off attacks from outside networks. Along with penetration testing, they may also install firewalls and monitor them often to ensure that they are operating as they are meant to be. This is a crucial task as these engineers are basically creating the shield and crafting a layer of protection for these networks to not only protect the users, but to protect any and all assets and PII (Personal Identifiable Information) data from being breached into or potentially stolen or copied.

PII info of any kind is one of the most crucial assets that we possess online and off-line as there are big bucks and a black market for any information one may deem valuable. Thus, it being so sought after, engineers do everything in their power to protect, not only us the users, but our information and privacy as a whole. Efficiency and safety protection is a priority of engineers who are tasked and trusted with this complicated mission and responsibility. They aren’t just tasked with that as they must also ensure it is up-to-date and monitor it constantly, while finding ways to constantly improve it. This is essential today as cyber crime is evolving day to day and engineers have to constantly adjust and keep up with the world as new methods are popping up every day. Engineers make the world and cyber networks safe by being the blue-collar workers, and the first line of defense against hackers and other organizations prior set thieving agendas.
