Rhetorical Analysis
COPY of Nieves Rhetorical Analysis Final Draft
In this rhetorical analysis assignment, I was tasked with identifying how the authors of a scholarly article used rhetorical strategies such as ethos, logos, and pathos to persuade their audience. After completing the rhetorical analysis essay, I have gained a greater respect towards competent writers. Prior to typing my paper, I did not understand the rhetoric tools that go into writing in order to persuade an audience. After finishing the assignment, I now fully understand how appeals to an author’s credibility, audience’s emotion, and logical reasoning contribute to the authors success in an argument. The assignment topic I chose has to do with law and business, which lawyers have to be knowledgeable about and have the ability interact with it. There is no answer on if wether consumers or businesses should be held responsible for product misuse, so it was a great opportunity to learn about business, law, and how it interacts with communities on a day to day basis. It is a complicated ethical issue that is currently being debated on, present day. As an aspiring lawyer, this issue is helpful in exploring complications I may face in the future, while providing me the opportunity to challenge my critical thinking and deductive reasoning.
