This course introduced me to election security, this specialized course explores the history, current challenges, and future prospects of election security. By integrating insights from cybersecurity, law and public policy, politics, and international affairs, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the diverse threats to elections and develop strategies to safeguard their integrity. This critical exploration will employ a wide range of technical and public policy tools. Topics covered include designing strategies for defending elections, hacking campaigns and voter data, vulnerabilities in election equipment, understanding manipulation and disinformation in politics, legal and policy perspectives on election security, building trust through secure practices, voting systems security measures, election phishing and ransomware attacks, and election systems as critical infrastructure.
