Activity Summary

During the first 100 hours of my internship with ARDX in Norfolk, Virginia, I have been working remotely and completing weekly assignments that help me learn more about healthcare administration. I stay in contact with my preceptor through weekly check-ins where we discuss my progress, review completed work, and talk about upcoming tasks. These meetings have been helpful because they give me the chance to ask questions, receive feedback, and better understand the expectations of the internship. Even though I work from home, I still feel like I am part of the organization because of the regular communication and support.

My main responsibilities include completing data entry assignments, organizing information, reviewing documents for accuracy, and making sure my work is completed on time. I have learned that paying attention to small details is very important because accuracy matters in healthcare administration. Since I work independently, I have also learned how to manage my time, stay organized, and meet deadlines without needing constant supervision.

Throughout these first 100 hours, I have gained skills that will help me in future healthcare roles. My data entry, organization, communication, and time management skills have continued to improve. I have also become more confident working independently while knowing when to ask for help if I need it. This internship has given me a better understanding of the administrative side of healthcare and how important accurate information and teamwork are to keeping an organization running smoothly. I look forward to continuing to build my knowledge and gain more hands-on experience as I complete the rest of my internship.

During my last 100 hours of my internship, I became more comfortable with my role and was able to take on more assignments independently. I continued having weekly check-ins with my preceptor, where we discussed my assignments, progress, and any questions I had. These check-ins helped me get more comfortable communicating in a professional setting and made it easier for me to ask questions when I needed help.

One of the projects I worked on was creating job aids. I enjoyed this assignment because I was able to take information and organize it in a way that would be easy for other people to understand and use. I had to think about what information was important and how to make the job aid clear and useful. This helped me improve my organization, attention to detail, communication, and creativity.

I also researched and recommended resources about problem-solving that could be shared with staff. I looked for different videos and resources that could help employees improve their problem-solving skills. This gave me more experience with researching information, deciding which resources were useful, and thinking about what would be helpful for employees. I also worked on an internship presentation video where I talked about my experience and what future interns could expect. This was a good opportunity for me to reflect on everything I had learned and practice explaining my experience in a professional but natural way.

Along with these projects, I continued doing data entry, organizing information, reviewing my work, and completing weekly assignments. I became better at managing my time and working independently since much of my internship was completed remotely. I also learned that it is important to double-check my work, meet deadlines, communicate when I have questions, and be open to feedback.

Overall, my last 100 hours gave me the opportunity to grow both personally and professionally. I became more confident in my abilities and learned more about what it is like to work in a professional organization. I was able to use skills I have learned in school while also developing new skills in communication, research, problem-solving, organization, and time management. This experience has given me skills and knowledge that I can take with me into future healthcare and administrative positions.
