Exploring Culture<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

While studying on the LingroLearning Website I was able to gain knowledge of exploring the culture of the Spanish-speaking world. This would give brief descriptions of people in the Spanish-speaking world where I was able to get to know their hobbies and personal life is like. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

While studying this Exploraci\u00f3n Cultural helped me gain a better understanding of the values in the Hispanic Culture. I found this very interesting while getting to know the unique experiences of countries because I have never experienced different countries. It was an exciting process to see how the values and attitudes in the Hispanic culture are very different. I enjoyed being able to learn about another culture while learning its language. The most challenging part of this was since I am in Spanish 101, I was still learning some words and their meanings. Although LingroLearning made it easy to figure out while reading through different people’s perspectives. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Engaging in Communities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The value and importance of engaging in my immediate and global community are because it helps me learn and I was able to get the most out of engaging in the community. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I do not have much experience in engaging in the Spanish community, although I have attended all my Spanish classes here at ODU. This semester has been a great but tough experience learning a new language. I have always wanted to learn how to speak Spanish so I am glad I get the opportunity here in college.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the Education Building on campus, this is where I have taken Spanish Classes for the past semester. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interpersonal Communication<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this audio below I completed an assignment where I asked a fluent Spanish speaker questions about themselves including 3 personal questions and 3 about what she studies on campus. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

During this interview with a friend of mine was during Unit 2 of the project. I was still very new to the Spanish language so this project was challenging but fun! I was lucky to have a friend who has already become fluent in Spanish so working with her made it easy. My friends Alanna even gave me some tips and pointers to correct my pronunciation and how to say certain words. I feel that compared to now I can see the growth as I look back on all the projects we have done this semester. I think the most difficult thing was remembering the pronunciation of certain words. With lots of practice, I have gotten a lot better! If I have to do a project like this again I would try to ask more questions and try to have conversations back with Alanna. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
