When reviewing the NICE framework of the cybersecurity workforce categories: Analyze, Collect and Operate, Investigate, Operate and Maintain, Oversee and Govern, Protect and Defend, and Securely Provision, a few caught my attention. I would be interested in focusing my career on the Collect and Operate, Protect and Defend, and Investigate categories of the cybersecurity workforce. Upon researching the collecting and operating domain, I took an interest in Cyber Operations for its work with ethical hacking and penetration testing to mitigate cybersecurity incidents. I also researched the investigation domain and found Digital Forensics appealing for its investigative purpose of identifying threats and tracing them to their source. I find topics of investigation, like the dark web and cybercrime, fascinating. Finally, I researched the protection and defense domain, and I found Cyber Defense Analysis interesting for its work in identifying potential threats and developing defenses. Among the areas I felt indifferent about, I felt less interested in the overseeing and governing aspects of its work in policies.
