There are two basic perspectives: cultural and ecological. The physical environment has been shaped by the actions of the world&#8217;s people. Basic questions geographers ask and answer are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Where?<\/li><li>What&#8217;s there?<\/li><li>How are places alike and different?<\/li><li>How do places interact?<\/li><li><strong>WHY THERE?<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Geography is an integrative discipline pulling in concepts and content from a variety of science and social science disciplines. The map shows the distribution of the world&#8217;s  population by country.
