Cybersecurity technology relates to my major in many different ways. My major is cybersecurity, but it is broken down into cyber-crime which is watching out for hackers and online activities that are illegal. Cybersecurity technology and cybercrime work with having to monitor network daily, protect important data, and confidential information. Cybersecurity technology also deals with stopping hackers, making sure items do not get damaged, protecting programs, hardware, and other devices. In cybersecurity technology, there is also physical security being monitored as well in cybercrime. In cybercrime, they use the cybersecurity technology to find out fraud transactions, trafficking, bullies, identify thefts, and illegal issues. Fraud transactions can be through any electronic device; cell phone, computer, tablet. ATM or even a card machine. Trafficking happens in every state but being able to use the correct technology to be able to figure out where it might be coming from, the person and their target all is base on the cyber technology. Online bullies are found on websites, social media, public and different apps. Cybercrime takes the action to locate, find evidence and confront the bully. Identity thefts seem to be becoming very popular with others trying to steal someone’s identity along with their personal information. These five issues are all cybercrime but in order to help the issue cybersecurity technology helps. My major deals a lot with cybersecurity technology with almost everything that is being processed. Without having the technology there would be issues to track locations, figure out IP addresses, look at computers and catching issues miles away is all from technology. Majors in anything with cyber or IT always deal with the side of the cybersecurity technology because, without it, it would be difficult to protect the networks/software, find hackers and protect others.
