How has cyber technology created opportunities for workplace deviance?

Workplace deviance is an incident that occurs on purpose from an individual that can harm a company. It is a common issue that is happening more often in the cyber technology field. Learning companies’ information with their passwords and how they use their technology can lead to many workplace deviances. Workplace deviance usually can occur when an employee gets released from their job or from an employee that works for the company. This can occur when the former employer has learned the company’s systems, then tries to get revenge from being let go from their job. An example, the former employer who was let go from their job might have been given access to a system that maintains all the employee’s information or the company’s private information. That former employer could hack into the systems and release all of the company’s information or personal information. Many issues with cyber technology have created opportunities for workplace deviance like knowing the wireless password or passwords to a business. The wireless password can sound like basic information but having cyber skills or information technology (IT), an employer would be able to hack into the wireless system or even attach a virus on the system. Other passwords will be able to allow the former employee or employer to access information that should be non-accessible.  Another workplace deviance that could happen, is a situation when an employee is often bribed to access information on a system. There could be money or an exchange of something, if the employee gets information from a technology source, then give it to another individual. A situation like this is usually common to notice while the employee is working at the company. The individual might bring in a different device like a laptop, memory stick or phone to help transfer the information. Workplace deviance in cyber technology does not seem to be stopped until the issues occur. The deviance will continue, until employees or former employees are monitored while working at a company or months after being released.
