My name is Nyah Levine, I am originally from Brooklyn, New York studying psychology at Old Dominion University. My professional goal is to go back into my community, which undervalues and underserves mental health, and give minorities the strategies and tools they need to start healing and living the balanced life that we all deserve.
My passion to become a holistic behavioral therapist stems from my struggles with anxiety and depression as a minority. The stigmas that prevented self-exploration and seeking help for myself have become my driving force as a young adult.
On the side, I am a horticulturist, crystal healer, spiritual worker, artist, world traveler, and free writer. Through my writing, I reach out to young minorities like myself, share experiences and connect with others. I am the proud owner of 60 plus plants and crystals! And I am also the host and creator of a new podcast called FamilyNotFriends!
I enrolled in Cross-Cultural psychology to broaden my perspective and learn valuable lessons that are both related to and unrelated to psychology. My hope is that I can use what I learned from this course to prepare me for my future career and life journeys ahead!
