Many values are meaningful to me, a few values that are important to me and pertain to my career goals include optimism, passion, strength, and patience. These are just a few values that I keep with me on my journey to becoming a holistic therapist, these values help me stay motivated and determined. Values like optimism and passion are important to me because they are what keeps me hopeful for a successful future. Passion is what keeps me interested in what I want to do. Staying passionate about my future plans reminds me that I am doing this for a greater cause, and to stay enthusiastic when times get hard. Strength and patience come into play when times do get hard. The journey to my end goal is a long one which why patience and strength are important values to have.
Different experiences in life are what made these values so essential to me. Hard times that I was able to pull myself out of help build values like strength and patience, these values prompt me to see hard times through to the end. Values like optimism and passion were shown to me through example by family members and peers. It was passion and optimism that kept people like my mother pushing. Seeing the drive and passion from others inspired me to do the same! As a university student, it was the combination of these things that gave me the idea to continue my education. I decided to continue my education because I had the drive to learn more. Upon graduating high school, there were things that I wanted to continue to learn and improve on, and I felt university was the perfect place to continue growing. My family is full of strong women who chose to continue their educational careers despite all odds held up against them, and I wanted to continue that legacy and inspire other young girls like me.
My parents and women in my family were not the only ones who played large roles in my decision making to continue my educational career, my teachers did too. My teachers always pushed me to continue on with my educational career and keep doing things that I loved. While making my decision to continue my educational career I kept many of my teachers in mind ;-).
